About hrPLANR

Built for India, in India, by people who've actually run payroll.

Most HR software is built somewhere else and patched for India. We started the other way around — with the Indian HR team's Monday morning and worked outward from there.

Founded 2024 · HQ Bengaluru · Remote-first across India

A payroll closing on the fifth of the following month isn't acceptable. It's just normalized.

Indian HR teams are some of the best-resourced in the world at running compliance — and some of the worst-served by their software. The typical 100-person company runs five tools to do what one tool should: an HRMS, a payroll system, an attendance vendor, an ATS, and a compliance consultant on retainer. Quarterly, someone reconciles the numbers across them. Often, they don't reconcile.

We've sat on the HR side of that desk. We've watched a payroll cycle slide from the 30th of one month to the 5th of the next because two of the five tools disagreed on a leave balance. We've seen a perfectly capable HR head spend Friday evening rebuilding a TDS calculation in Excel because the system "had been configured wrong, but only for some employees, but nobody is sure which ones."

That's the problem we set out to solve. Not "modernize HR" — that phrase has been used and abused for a decade. Just: make the cycle close on time, every time, without late nights.

hrPLANR is the workforce operations platform built for that. HR, payroll, India statutory compliance, attendance, leave, recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding — on one platform, with AI woven through where it earns its place. PF, ESI, PT, TDS, POSH, DPDP — all included, not "configurable later."

We are India-first because that's the team we know and the buyer we serve. The Enterprise plan supports multi-currency for global teams, but the centre of gravity stays here. If a compliance requirement is unique to India, it's built in. If a workflow assumption is American, we've thrown it out.

This is what we've spent two years building. We hope it's the platform you've been waiting for.

Our mission

Give Indian HR teams the tools they should have had all along.

What we believe

Four principles. We try to live them.

These aren't aspirational. Each one is operationally true — pointable to a feature, a refused shortcut, or a way we structure work.

01

Built for India, not adapted from elsewhere.

Most HRMS products were designed in California and bolted onto India with a "PF module." We started with the India statutory stack — PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity, POSH, DPDP — and built the rest of the product on top of it.

The consequence is that nothing about India compliance is a paid add-on or a "Phase 2" feature. If you're running an Indian payroll, you have what you need.

02

Human-in-loop AI. Always.

AI scores resumes. AI flags payroll variances. AI answers HR questions in Slack. In every case, AI surfaces, suggests, and prepares — but the human approves the action.

We don't believe AI should make hiring decisions or run payroll without your eyes on it. Not because we don't trust AI, but because the consequences of AI being wrong (a wrongly-rejected candidate, an incorrectly-paid employee) are large enough that human judgment earns its place.

03

Transparent pricing. No "talk to sales" walls.

Every plan price is on the page in INR. Every feature is in the comparison table. The annual discount is shown. The Premium AI Pack price is published. Only Enterprise (which is legitimately custom) goes to sales — everything else, you decide on your own.

We're not above a sales conversation — we love them — but you should know the answer before you call.

04

Honest about the boundary. Always.

Direct e-filing isn't live yet — we prepare files, you upload to the portal. AI matching needs the Premium Pack on Growth — it's not bundled. POSH is Growth+ only — not Free. We say so on every page.

Software demos lie. Software companies that say "feature coming Q3 2026" usually have it ready Q1 the year after. We'd rather tell you the boundary today than hide it until the sales call.

The team

Small, deliberate, India-built.

We don't have a "growth team" or a "global expansion lead." We have engineers who ship, designers who think about Indian HR teams' actual screens, and one founder who has run a payroll cycle himself.

On funding

Backed by founders, not by VCs. By design.

We're privately funded by the founding team. That means we make product decisions on a product timeline, not a fundraising one. It also means our customers — the ones paying for the product — are the only stakeholders we answer to.
